Our guide brought on some flowers common to the area

The flower is actually the yellow part - the red is a modified leaf

A bamboo orchid (not actually bamboo but the stalk looks like it)

A pretty flower but it is considered invasive

Some street scenes.  Most of the older homes are single walled - they have no insulation.  Most are slightly elevated off the ground.
